About Me, or Perhaps Just My Bio.

Sheray Franklin, a native of Savannah Georgia, is a graduate of Savannah Arts Academy and a sophomore at Oklahoma City University. She studies Dance Management at the Ann Lacy School of Dance and Arts Management and is looking forward to earning a Masters in Fine Arts. She aspires to be in the Broadway Musical Lion King and perform with various contemporary ballet and modern companies.
In 2010 Franklin was Miss Congeniality at Oklahoma City University and was recently crowned Miss Black Oklahoma USA. She intends on sharing her passion of dance with the African American community through her platform J.U.S.T. Dance (Joyfully Uniting Students Through Dance). Along with representing her university through pageantry she is also heavily involved with several student organizations including, Student Government Senate for Students of Arts Management, Vice President of the Sisterhood of African American Students, Public Relations Chairwoman of Black Student Association, Blue Tie Ambassador and a past 2010 Spring dance company member of American Spirit.
Franklin has a clear understanding that this world is beyond her. She is aware that she is not only living for herself but for generations to come. She is committed to encouraging, empowering, and enlightening all people.  Franklin says, “I am clear on my assignment to the world. Dance is a God given gift that I WILL share. Rather than burying it in the soil, I will plant a gift given to me into the hearts of students. I can only hope that through my passion l will positively affect my community, state, and country.”
